Communication with Parents and Teachers2Parents system

It is very important that communication between home and school is effective, efficient and clear.  During the school year we need to contact parents for a wide range of reasons such as:

  • Illness or injury of your child
  • Unexpected closure of the School
  • Changes to scheduled events
  • Curriculum information
  • Weekly newsletters
  • Information regarding PA events
  • Information regarding school trips etc.

Teachers2Parents

Both the Infant and Junior Schools use a text, email system called Teacher2Parents as our main way of contacting parents.  The Teachers2Parents service is registered with the Data Protection Registrar which guarantees that all information supplied will be kept completely private and confidential. There is no advertising associated with the scheme.

SchoolMoney

We use the payment system SchoolMoney as our main way of managing school payments.

Emergency contact details

It is very important that we have accurate contact information relating to your child.  Please ensure that you keep all contact details up to date and inform the Office of any changes.  All details should be included in the Contact Form which is completed when your child joins the School. We also need 2 emergency contacts that we can contact in case we can't get hold of either parent or carer.

Newsletters

We send out weekly newsletters to all parents and carers via Teachers2Parents with up to date information on what has been happening that week, forthcoming events and other important information. Please read as this is a very useful way of keeping in touch!! You can also this link to view the newsletters.

Parent /teacher consultations

We feel it is very important that you are kept informed of how your child is doing at school so we schedule two parent consultations each year – one in the Autumn Term and one in the Spring Term. We are also very happy to arrange to meet with you at other times, should this be necessary. Please talk to your child’s teacher if you would like to arrange a meeting outside of these times.

You will receive a report in July of each year summarising your child’s progress and attainment over the year.

Meet the Teacher

In the first half term of your child starting in their new class we will organise a Meet the Teacher evening. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know your child's class teacher and to find out more information about what your child will be doing in class during the year.

Let Your Child Explain

At the end of every half term we invite the parents and carers in for all children in Year 1 and Year 2. This is an opportunity for the children to talk to their grown up about their learning and parents and carers have an opportunity to comment on the child's reflection page. In Nursery and Reception the children take their Special Books home for the weekend each half term so they can talk to their grown up about their learning as well.
