The Parents' Association (The PA)

What is the Brookland Infant School PA?

When your child joins Brookland Infant School, you automatically become a member of the Parents’ Association (PA). The PA is an important part of school life, helping to support the school, its staff, and most importantly, our children.

We work together as parents and carers to:

  1. Bring people together – We organise events for children, families, and the wider community. From school fairs to coffee mornings, these are a great chance to have fun, make friends, and enrich school life.

  2. Raise funds – As a state-funded school, resources are limited, so fundraising makes a real difference. Thanks to the PA, we’ve been able to refurbish the children’s toilets, refurbish our library and build a brand-new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) in the playground. Every penny raised goes straight back into making our school even better for the children.

  3. Support families – The PA is here for you. Whether you’d like to meet other parents, share an idea, or just help out when you can, your involvement is always valued.

What does the PA do?

Above all, we have fun! The PA is a friendly group of parents and carers who want to make school life the best it can be. We’re always looking for fresh faces and new ideas, whether that’s helping run a stall at the fair, making tea at an event, or suggesting a fundraising idea.

No contribution is too small. If you can spare a little time, it really helps. And if you can’t? That’s fine too, just being part of the community matters.

We hold meetings at school throughout the year, and you’re always welcome to drop in. We understand how busy family life is, so there’s no pressure to commit lots of time, many of us are juggling work, siblings, childcare, and everything in between! The more people get involved, the easier (and more fun!) it is for everyone.

Check the school calendar, newsletters, and noticeboards for upcoming PA meetings and events.

Why get involved?

Children get so much more out of school when they see their parents and carers involved. They love it! Helping out with the PA is also a brilliant way to meet other families and feel part of the school community.

So come along, have your say, and join in when you can. Whether you’ve got 5 minutes or 5 hours, the PA needs you!
