The Parents' Association (The PA)
What is the Brookland Infant School PA?
As your child is at Brookland Infant School you are automatically a member of the PA. The PA is an important part of the fabric of school life. We (and that includes you of course) aim to support the school, its staff and our children in every way that we can.
We have a legal constitution that you can see (just ask your class rep) which sets out our aims and how we are organised.
1. We are a forum where we all (parents, carers and staff) can share ideas and problems, voice our concerns and exchange our thoughts.
2. We organise events for both children and adults that exist simply for fun and to enrich everyone's lives.
3. We raise desperately needed funds. Don't forget that Brookland Infant and Nursery School is a state funded school. Its riches lie in its staff and children and not in its coffers! We have just raised enough funds to have the children's toilets refurbished in the main building. Our next project will be the playground and the furniture in the classrooms.
4. We're here for YOU. Use us!
What does the PA do?
Firstly we have fun. This is very important! Do join us! Have your say! The PA is always in need of fresh faces and new ideas. Never think that you have nothing to offer us: if you can boil a kettle - we need you!
We meet every now and then, usually at school, and you are always very welcome. Come along whenever you can. We don't ask for a huge commitment or a lot of your time. Most members juggle work, siblings, after school initiatives, childcare and some people even have a social life! The more of us there are, the more we can spread the load.
You need to check the school calendar and the noticeboards for details of the meeting and events.
Remember, children get so much more out of school when they know that their parents/carers are involved... and they love it!
The PA needs you!
